The Trans Am Racing Series is a premier sports car racing series in North America, founded in 1966 by the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). Known for its thrilling races and iconic muscle cars, the series features a variety of classes, including the powerful TA class and the competitive TA2 class.
The Trans Am Series is renowned for its 850 horsepower TA class cars, which are known for their speed, sound, and pure racing experience, as electronic driver aids are banned. The TA2 class, on the other hand, brings back the "Muscle Car Wars" of the 1960s and 1970s, with cars like the Chevrolet Camaro, Dodge Challenger, and Ford Mustang competing at around 530 horsepower.
Mark your calendar for the upcoming Sonoma SpeedTour, happening April 24–27, 2025, at the legendary Sonoma Raceway. This event is part of the Trans Am National Championship and features the roaring TA/XGT/SGT/GT classes and the intense CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series. Set in the scenic heart of California wine country, Sonoma Raceway's 12-turn course, with its dramatic elevation changes, is bound to deliver non-stop action and edge-of-your-seat excitement.
March 25, 2025 – Braselton, GA – Joshua Carlson delivered another dominant performance in the SGT class at Road Atlanta, securing his second consecutive victory of the season. Piloting the No. 36 Enseva/Diercks Ltd./TC Fab Ford Mustang, Carlson took the lead at the green flag and maintained control for the entire race, executing a smooth and consistent run to the checkered flag.
With this win, Carlson continues to build momentum as he looks ahead to the next round at Sonoma Raceway in April, determined to keep his winning streak alive.
“First, I’d like to thank Enseva for all their unlimited support, and my parents for letting me race and go as fast as I do, because I’m sure it scares them a little bit sometimes,” Carlson said after the race. “It was a good race; we did what we had to do to win it, and I’m just happy to be on the top side of the podium again.”
