The Trans Am Racing Series is a premier sports car racing series in North America, founded in 1966 by the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). Known for its thrilling races and iconic muscle cars, the series features a variety of classes, including the powerful TA class and the competitive TA2 class.
The Trans Am Series is renowned for its 850 horsepower TA class cars, which are known for their speed, sound, and pure racing experience, as electronic driver aids are banned. The TA2 class, on the other hand, brings back the "Muscle Car Wars" of the 1960s and 1970s, with cars like the Chevrolet Camaro, Dodge Challenger, and Ford Mustang competing at around 530 horsepower.
The upcoming Trans Am race at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta is set to continue the 2025 race season with a bang! Scheduled for March 20th - 23rd, 2025, this race will feature the TA/XGT/SGT/GT classes, marking an exciting continuation of the season.
The Road Atlanta track, known for its challenging 2.54-mile course with 12 turns, promises thrilling racing action and spectacular overtakes. Fans can look forward to high-speed action, intense battles for the lead, and the chance to see their favorite drivers push the limits of their cars
"We took away the neon and then we start winning, so I would say I think that added a few horsepower," said Carlson, who was asked if his new livery was responsible for his victory in the season opener. "I'm very happy to be able to win this race and dominate through most of the weekend. We had a good baseline going into this week and we built off of it and were able to secure the win. Thank you to Enseva for coming back on board this year. I wouldn't be able to race without the support my family. Hopefully, we can develop this car a bit more to run up front the rest of the season. Congratulations to Patrick Utt on his first Trans Am podium."
